Funtasy Island

Located 16km south of Sentosa Cove Singapore in Indonesian waters, this development will be the largest "eco theme park" in the world, with an on-land animal sanctuary as well as a marine water park.

There are a number of luxury villas being constructed along the northern boundary of the three main interlinked islands as well as 2-3-4 bedroom villas built in the sea. Almost 100% pre-sold, I was invited to join a small group of interested buyers to tour the island.

Once completed in 2014-15, one will have a direct ferry service to the Island. Today we had to go via Bitam to clear customs then alight a smaller private ferry to the Island.

These first two pictures are images of the full development and a model 2-bedroom 2-level Corallium Villa.

We gently sailed between two of the Funtasy Islands with mature mango trees adorning the waters edge and small schools of fish swimming in the clear waters below, only ~2m deep (high tide). Apparently it gets as shallow as ~50cm at low tide and you can walk amongst the coral reefs on the sea bed.

 

From a high vantage point on the Island you can see the first of the Corallium Villas being constructed and at water level it is evident that there is a lot of work to go in order to complete all 150 by late 2014.

 

 They are also creating a 100m wide and 20m deep white sandy beach near the show-villa.
